25 Uses for Tea Tree Oil

What is Tea Tree Oil?

Tea tree oil, also known as Melaleuca alternifoliais, is an essential oil that has been around for quite a while but not until the past decade has its healing benefits been catching on like wildfire. The oil is extracted from a plant native to Australia and cannot be found naturally occurring elsewhere.
Tea tree oil should NEVER be ingested and is only to be used as a topical remedy.

What are the healing benefits of Tea Tree Oil?

Tea tree oil is a “jack of all trades” as far as remedies go. The easiest way to grasp the benefits is to think: skin issues + tea tree oil = healing (in most cases).

Product Review: Pond's Cold Cream

Hello Beauts! I’m back! After a few months of not posting anything! I’ve been so busy about work and there are some drastic changes in my life these past few months.

Well I’m not here today to talk about dramas so let’s start!

I love! LOVE! to experiment with different looks, specially when it comes to eye make up. I’m working in a hotel right now and i love my new job! wohooo. Wearing a reasonable amount of make up is a must because we need to look presentable and pretty? lol. But one of the hassle side of putting eye make up is the “taking it off” part. When I started putting eye make up what i usually do to take it off is just wash my face and eyelids with regular soap and I always look like a panda after.

So I started looking for some good make up remover. I tried several make up wipes and towelettes but those were not good enough to take all the gunk off my face.
I was able to ran through some reviews about the ponds cold cream. So I went to the nearest mall (Ayala, Cebu) to get some. This cream is not available in local drugstore (booooooo). I went to Somera, this store sells American products from make up down to skincare goodies. I was lucky to find pond’s cold cream, it comes in different sizes but I got the regular since I just want to try it out. I forgot how much I got for, probably 400-500 pesos. I know it’s not that cheap but I tell you this holy grail will last you FOREVER!

what i love:

  • It works!
  • it totally gets rid of my waterproof makeup with no tugging, faster than my cleansing oils, wipes and towelettes.
  • No allergic reactions. my face abhor oily stuff, but this one aint oily...it's creamy!
  • Moisturizing. i've used some cleansing stuff that left me with that stretchy feel after.
  • Leaves me with clean, radiant, supple skin after cleansing.
  • Unlike my cleansing oil, this doesn't blur my eyes.

what i don’t:

  • The scent. it's not that strong but I just hate using stuff that smells.
  • Packaging may be cute, but it can be unhygienic. it's prone to double-dipping. probably they can have this in a pump-bottle?

TIPS:
  • To avoid double dipping, you can use a spatula or a cotton bud to scoop out some cream from the tub
  • If you won't be washing your face right after using this and you hate the slightly-oily feel, you can use wet wipes after the facial tissue.
  • Massage the cream slowly onto your face, and see the makeup melt right before your eyes. the massaging is also good for blood circulation.
  • If you're wearing waterproof eyemakeup, put a bit on your eyelids and massage gently. be gentle in wiping it off with a tissue, you don't need to tug anyway since the makeup already melted with the cream.

I’m giving this product 5 stars! Can’t tell you more about how much I love this!

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette Review

IM INLOVE WITH THIS PALETTE! This post is a total RAVE!

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette is perfect for everyday use! Between the matte and shimmery shades you can't go wrong. They are silky smooth and absolutely blendable. The colors coordinate beautifully and look very sophisticated. The shadows are also high quality and stay on for a long time, not to mention the pretty metal case they come in!  This palette is perfect for starters just entering the makeup scene or for more experienced fashionistas. This is a necessity for every girls make up arsenal.

From morning to night you can use it for any look. I use this for a smokey natural eye during the day and a darker cat eyed smokey eye at night. The colors are made so well they look great alone. Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Facial Moisturizer Review

Moisturize! moisturize! moisturize! I can't stress it enough. I don't moisturize before because I think it can add up to my already oily skin but I was totally wrong. No matter whether your skin is dry, oily or sensitive, you shouldn't skip the moisturizing step in your skin care routine. Not moisturizing can cause redness or flaking, and in time it can allow wrinkles and other signs of aging to appear ealier than they otherwise might. Moisturizing can tremendously help if you have skin irritations ang allergies.

Today I'm going to review Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Facial moisturizer.

CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Hydration Facial Moisturizer has Triple Moisturizing System that contains Glycerin, Provitamin B5 and Aloe Vera that work deep down to provide lasting relief from skin dryness. Its unique hydrogel formula provides the skin with optimum hydration without the greasy after-feel.

Ingredients:

Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Panthenol, Hexylene Glycol, Carbomer, Aloe barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Citric Acid

PRICE: PhP 127.00 (50ml)
              PhP 210.00 (100ml)

Review:

I'm hesitant to purchase this at first because I haven't used Celeteque products before. Their packaging caught my attention, it comes in a white box with blue stripes which reminds me of medicine packaging. I'm super desperate to find a good moisturizer at that time and I find it super cheap, so if doesn't work then FINE. I've purchase tons of products and most of them didn't impress me! Total waste of money!

I've used several brand of moisturizers  and so far this is my favorite! It's indeed lightweight and it's a holy grail for oilies like me. After I wash my face I'm always excited to put this on because it feel so good on the skin. It doesn't have cooling effect but it's in a gel form so when you put it on it feels like you're rubbing water on your face. What I love about this moisturizer is that it doesn't have a scent! It's just like a water in a tube but with added benefits. (YAY!!!!)

I always use this twice a day, in the morning I use this as a primer whether I'm going to put makeup or not and at night before going to bed. If I have a pimple I'll get a quarter size amount of product and I'll put a drop of tea tree oil. It works amazing I tell you!

The product comes in a transparent gel.

PROS:

oil free
water-based
moisturizes my skin well
suits with my skin type
doesn't add up to my oiliness (awesooooooome!)
it's non-comedogenic, hypo-allergenic, fragrance-free
almost perfect for summer
the packaging clearly shows the manufacturer and the expiration date
super affordable! ( and it's soooo good)

CONS:

It's almost perfect for summer because it's super lightweight but unfortunately it doesn't have spf.
The box and the tube were not sealed.

Verdict:

This moisturizer is 4 star for me! I think it's perfect for all skin types because it's mild and unscented. I'm going to repurchase this again and again and again! :)

Nichido True Colors Powder Blush Collection - Cool Rum & Tomato Review

For everyday makeup I usually go for blushes that are matte rather than those with shimmers. I want to look as natural as possible or at least not to look too made up. So one time I was in Watson’s just checking out some local makeup counters, and these babies caught my eye.

It’s the Nichido True Colors Powder Blushes! shade: COOL RUM and TOMATO

I grabbed these photos from google because I don't have a good camera at the moment. :(

Price: P 88.00 ( I know riiiight? super cheap and this will last you forever!)

Nichido True Colors Collection Powder Blush Ingredients:

Talc, Mica, Cyclomethicone, Dimethiconol, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Stearate, Parffinum Liquidium, Isopropyl Myrisatate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, May Contain CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 12085, CI 77007, CI 77742, CI 15850, CI 77360.

Who doesn't love cheap and good products right?  Specially if you're going to wear it often or use it on a day to day basis. Blush is one of my beauty product staples. Some people like to have that bronzed pale look but I just personally like a nice flush of color on my cheeks, it makes you look healthy and glowing.
Nichido blush collection has been on the market for quite a while now. I remembered I bought my first blush product from them, it was way back 2012. Until then I kept on repurchasing it because I love it that much! These are powder blushers that may appear powdery right after application but will look natural on the cheeks when blended well. They all give a matte finish which I find good for everyday wear.

COOL RUM which I love! love! love! is a warm, brownish coral blush. It gives warmth to the face. This shade seems to complement coral, peach, orangey, nude, or brown lipstick. I've read that some use this for contouring so I tried it and it works well. But I prefer to use this solely as a blusher. This is the most used and abused blusher in my stash. I dropped it one time and it crumbled into powder (ooooops).

Next is the shade TOMATO, this blush shade didn't impressed me the first time I used it. It really does make you look tomato red! However I find this color so youthful and fun. Here's a tip, when applying this blush use a soft blush brush and stipple it  lightly on your cheeks and WALLAH!!! you now have that perfect flush!

What I like:

  • Beautiful color selection.
  • Very affordable for only 88 pesos!
  • Good color payoff, specially when you use the right brush to apply it.
  • They are buildable.
  • Average staying power, but with a good base they will last longer.
  • Didn't break me out.
  • It is available on all Nichido counters nationwide.

What I don't like:

  • Lasting power is so-so. 2 to 3 hours max.
  • It may appear powdery upon application (again, it will look natural on skin when it has set).

Verdict:

I give this product 3.5 stars! This blush is perfect for everday wear and I love how afforadable nichido products are. The lasting power is not a big deal to me because it's buildable and you can definitely reapply the product when needed.

This makeup tutorial is just perfect for summer! Light, simple and the products are affordable too!

SUMMER LOOK?

Got a haircut and decided to give my hair a new look, but I think this color is too much. Oh well! I'll just let it sit for a few weeks or months maybe. So this is how it feels to be a redhead huh, what do you think? :D
