Nichido True Colors Powder Blush Collection - Cool Rum & Tomato Review

For everyday makeup I usually go for blushes that are matte rather than those with shimmers. I want to look as natural as possible or at least not to look too made up. So one time I was in Watson’s just checking out some local makeup counters, and these babies caught my eye.

It’s the Nichido True Colors Powder Blushes! shade: COOL RUM and TOMATO

I grabbed these photos from google because I don't have a good camera at the moment. :(

Price: P 88.00 ( I know riiiight? super cheap and this will last you forever!)

Nichido True Colors Collection Powder Blush Ingredients:

Talc, Mica, Cyclomethicone, Dimethiconol, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Stearate, Parffinum Liquidium, Isopropyl Myrisatate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, May Contain CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 12085, CI 77007, CI 77742, CI 15850, CI 77360.

Who doesn't love cheap and good products right?  Specially if you're going to wear it often or use it on a day to day basis. Blush is one of my beauty product staples. Some people like to have that bronzed pale look but I just personally like a nice flush of color on my cheeks, it makes you look healthy and glowing.
Nichido blush collection has been on the market for quite a while now. I remembered I bought my first blush product from them, it was way back 2012. Until then I kept on repurchasing it because I love it that much! These are powder blushers that may appear powdery right after application but will look natural on the cheeks when blended well. They all give a matte finish which I find good for everyday wear.

COOL RUM which I love! love! love! is a warm, brownish coral blush. It gives warmth to the face. This shade seems to complement coral, peach, orangey, nude, or brown lipstick. I've read that some use this for contouring so I tried it and it works well. But I prefer to use this solely as a blusher. This is the most used and abused blusher in my stash. I dropped it one time and it crumbled into powder (ooooops).

Next is the shade TOMATO, this blush shade didn't impressed me the first time I used it. It really does make you look tomato red! However I find this color so youthful and fun. Here's a tip, when applying this blush use a soft blush brush and stipple it  lightly on your cheeks and WALLAH!!! you now have that perfect flush!

What I like:

  • Beautiful color selection.
  • Very affordable for only 88 pesos!
  • Good color payoff, specially when you use the right brush to apply it.
  • They are buildable.
  • Average staying power, but with a good base they will last longer.
  • Didn't break me out.
  • It is available on all Nichido counters nationwide.

What I don't like:

  • Lasting power is so-so. 2 to 3 hours max.
  • It may appear powdery upon application (again, it will look natural on skin when it has set).

Verdict:

I give this product 3.5 stars! This blush is perfect for everday wear and I love how afforadable nichido products are. The lasting power is not a big deal to me because it's buildable and you can definitely reapply the product when needed.

ChapStick Classic Spearmint Lip Balm

I have been dealing with cracked and dry lips since forever! Some people told me that dry lips is caused by not drinking enough water, but  TRUST ME when I say I drink water like a Camel. Maybe it's genetics? I really don't know but anyways I have a review on another lip balm from Vaseline, that one works fine but I'm still searching for better lip products. This will be a review about CHAPSTICK CLASSIC SPEARMINT LIP BALM.

What the product claims:

  • helps prevent and temporarily protects chafed, chapped or cracked lips

      • helps prevent and protect from the drying effects of wind and cold weather

      • helps prevent sunburn

      • higher SPF gives more sunburn protection

Active Ingredients: Padimate O (1.5%) (Sunscreen), White Petrolatum (44%) (Skin Protectant)

Inactive Ingredients: Arachadyl Propionate, Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera) Wax, Cetyl Alcohol, FD&C Blue 1 (CI 42090), FD&C Yellow 5 Aluminum Lake, Fragrance, Isopropyl Lanolate, Isopropyl Myristate, Lanolin, Light Mineral Oil, Maltol, Menthol, Methylparaben, Octyldodecanol, Paraffin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Propylparaben, Saccharin, Spearmint (Mentha Viridis) Oil, White Wax

PROS:

• Hydrates lips for long.

• Makes lips healthy.

• Works as lipstick base.

• Not heavy on lips.

• Fresh spearmint smell and long lasting spearmint taste.

• Easy to use packaging.

CONS:

  • Should have higher spf.

ChapStick lip balm comes a sturdy twist tube packaging, very convenient and you can control the amount of product that you want to use. The Spearmint variant is minty green in color and it comes transparent on lips which adds a creamy shine. This makes it a nice option to be used under lipsticks. Also as its not oily/waxy it works best as lipstick base.

This balm reminds me of my favorite gum! DOUBLEMINT, I feel nostalgic every time I put this on. Though it claims to give sun protection but there's no SPF content mentioned on the packaging. So I searched how much spf this product actually have and I saw that the US version has SPF 4 printed on the packaging. I wish it comes with a higher spf but I still think this is a really good product, considering that I have super dry lips this can still manage to keep it moisturized and plump. I'm down to my 2nd tube now! This balm will last you for a long time but not for me!!! Can't stop licking my lips when I have this on! Not only it smells awesome, it tastes sooooo good too! In totality, it is a great lip balm really cured my dry lips and keeps them healthy and soft for long. If you love spearmint taste and smell, then this is a must try lip balm for you. I recommend this to everyone!

This balm is a 4.5 star for me!

Review: Revlon COLORSTAY Liquid Foundation

Hello loves! It's been a while since I updated my blog but these past few months I've purchased products that I like and I'm so excited to share my thoughts with you guys. Today I'll be reviewing Revlon COLORSTAY liquid foundation (combination/oily skin).

I'm a Revlon fanatic! I just love how good their products are!

I have a combination skin, dry to some parts of my cheeks and oily to the T-zone area. I'm always on a hunt for a good foundation that's not too heavy. I already purchased this foundation before but unfortunately it's not my shade (shade:BUFF). I can't really appreciate the foundation since I'm not using it often. I'm pale with neutral undertone and the shade buff is just too yellow for me, so I tried my luck again and thank God! I've found the perfect match, 180 Sand Beige.

Shade: 180 light beige ( COMBINATION / OILY SKIN )

What it claims to do: Wears for up to 24 hours
                                      Flawless look, light feel

To use: Shake well. Apply to one area at a time, blending quickly. Remove with facial cleanser.

Smell:  To be honest, It smells like paint. This is what I don't like about this foundation, but once you put this on the smell fades away.

Price: P 850.00

I didn't have time to take a picture of the foundation but I found an accurate swatch photo from google. * wink

REVIEW

PROS:

1. This foundation carries formulation for normal/oily combination to normal/dry combination.
2. It comes in 13 shades to choose from.
3. The consistency is thick and slightly liquid so you don't need too much product to get optimum coverage.
4. The coverage is medium to full and definitely buildable. Can cover hyper-pigmentation, scars, redness, and dark under eyes.
5. Does not look cakey or blotchy despite building coverage for a more flawless look.
6. The finish is not completely matte, it still looks natural.
7. Does not feel heavy on the face.
8. Minimal to no retouching throughout the day.
9. Does not transfer!

CONS:

1. The packaging needs a pump. Seriously!
2. Smells like paint, but it fades away though.
3. It dries a bit faster than most foundations, but can still be blended well. Just make sure to  distribute the product evenly on the face before buffing it out.
4. It's claims to stay on for 24 hours, but come on who wears make up for 24 hours? It's ridiculous and definitely bad for your skin. I usually wear my foundation without primer. For me this foundation lasts 3-4  hours till I see some oil sipping through. Just make sure that you blot your face and slightly touch up with a powder.
5.  This foundation if not applied correctly can tend to be cakey. I've tried using a brush with this foundation but I prefer my hands to warm up the product. The sales representative advised me to used a patting motion when applying this and blend it afterwards.
6. The price is kinda off but I'm assuring you that this product is worth it and it will last you a good amount of time.

Verdict:

I'll give foundation 4 stars. I love how it feels on my skin and it doesn't break me out which is really important to me because I have sensitive skin. I find the coverage decent for a drugstore foundation. Definitely purchasing it again!
